Comments This was one of the better trips I have had in a long time. First the diving was just amazing. If you love coral like I do, the Straits of Tiran had some of the best corals I have seen in a very long time. You can really tell that the Egyptian government is on top of protecting the marine sanctuary and park. If you like wrecks, there were a lot of historic and famous wrecks just teaming with fish of all kinds. One small glitch was at the SS Thistlegorm. We had three dives here, 2 day and 1 night. I will say that while I was impressed with the SS. Thistlegorm, and saw lots of great fish and artifacts, tourism is picking up and there are a lot of dive operations that just don’t care about the wreck, ecosystem or other divers. On one dive we had a group of Russian divers who took great pleasure in shining VERY bright lights at my camera so as to disrupt my filming. They also liked to stir up the silt.

Some of the highlights were dolphin ,multiple octopuses, a Spanish dancer, Pink Stonefish, Crocodile Fish, Devilfish and so many clams. I have a lot of short videos at [youtube.com link]

The Red Sea Aggressor II and crew were just amazing. Everyone was pleasant and very helpful. I didn’t have to lift a finger at any time for anything. There was an onboard chef and pastry chef, so the food was simply amazing. Every dive had a little bit more than full fill and they really went out of their way to make sure that every guest had the best time possible.

I know that a lot of American’s have reservations about going to Egypt and the middle east, but I can honestly tell you that the Egyptian government goes out of its way to ensure that tourists are safe and protected. I actually felt safer there than I do in my recently former hometown city of NYC. I highly recommend making this trip and staying with Aggressor. The price of the boat is relatively cheap and you are getting 5 star service and diving. I can’t wait to go again.

Thanks for the report. I will be going the end of December on the Aggressor III for one week down south and one week up north. Did you have any problems getting your required Covid test prior to returning to the States? Where and how did you go about getting it? Thanks again

Aggressor was awesome in that regard. Normally they would have the doctor come to the boat, however, that was suspended while we were there. Aggressor arranged transportation for us to go to the tourist testing site, and included a local guide who was able to run interference for us with the authorities. It only took an hour all told. The crew went out of their way to make sure that we got what we needed.
